UFC 285 betting, odds: How to bet epic Jon Jones-Ciryl Gane main event

Loughran makes his anticipated UFC debut, and the Prospect will be looking for another finish as seven of his eight wins have come by finish. In his last fight, he just pushed his opponent against the cage for the first round, then got a takedown in round two before a knee ended it, but he was pretty low volume against a bad opponent. This fight is unbettable in my opinion as it will be an absolute war, and anything could happen.

Both guys are solid on the feet and on the ground, but I would give a slight edge to Thiago Moises on the ground. Almeida knocked out Trizano two fights ago, but Almeida was getting pieced up before that, and Trizano got damaged bad by a head clash so take that win with a grain of salt. Her last fight against Carla Esparza was truly bizarre where her corner was telling her she was winning when it was clearly a very close fight, and it probably cost her a win.

She was so tentative and low volume, and if that version of Rose shows up, Fiorot is going to roll. Gane will have a big striking advantage and over five rounds I see him wearing Spivac down with his long jabs and solid clinch game. Type term s to start your search. Spivak will attempt to make Gane grapple, but he will compete in just his second-ever main event on Saturday and first outside of the small UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas. The Moldovan has never gone past the minute mark in his professional career. Ciryl gane odds Spivak is the thicker man, continually packing on muscle and filling out at the heavyweight division throughout his career, and he may be the stronger fighter early.

However, Gane is the taller, longer and much quicker athlete. The Frenchman will look to find a home on the outside of the octagon, where he can pick apart Spivak with his range weapons. Gane uses his length as well as any fighter in the division while fighting behind a crisp jab and penetrating teep kicks to establish his range.

He should have a clear advantage both in the distance striking and in the pocket, where he can look to sit down on counters against a much less technical and less dangerous striker than he has seen in recent bouts. Gane has outclassed a run of power punchers Jairzinho Rozenstruil, Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa and outpaced high-volume strikers Alexnder Volkov , but he struggled against well-rounded champions Jones, Ngannou who could threaten him in multiple facets of MMA.

Gane hasn't faced a pure grappler like Spivak. Spivak has likely become accustomed to the intimate foot Apex cage, where he's fought in five of his past six bouts, as opposed to the regular-sized octagon he'll see on Saturday. The normal UFC octagon gives Spivak less margin for error when he attempts to cut off the cage and close the distance to initiate grappling exchanges.

He may have difficulty tracking down Gane and getting into clinch positions to initiate takedowns. Since Spivak relies on upper-body takedowns and judo throws as opposed to the double-leg style wrestling Ngannou employed, he may not be able to grapple Gane — a muay Thai specialist with excellent clinch work — at all in this fight. And even if Spivak does land takedowns early, Gane should be able to scramble back to his feet — at least initially quickly.

Spivak doesn't typically end up in great control positions even after getting his opponents off-balance; he just hangs onto their wrists and keeps at it until wearing them down. If Spivak can apply that early pressure and break Gane's spirit with his grappling, he may be able to get a submission or positional TKO; once Spivak does gain those control positions, he is a large man who is difficult to shake off of you.

However, Spivak tends to fold under adversity, too, and he may have below-average durability even for the heavyweight division. Binary matchups typically end quickly, and the winner, in hindsight, will have often looked like a dominant favorite. Photo: ciryl gane odds Early Prelims p. Main Card Bo Nickal vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov Valentina Shevchenko vs. Book it. SI Producer Doug Vazquez With so much hype surrounding the return of Jon Jones, I feel like the co-main event on this card has been severely overlooked. Valentina Shevchenko steps back into the Octagon for the first time since July to defend the flyweight title against a heavy underdog in Alexa Grasso. I spoke with the champ this summer shortly after her victory over Talia Santos in July, and while she would not admit that settling the score with Nunes is motivation for her to cement her place in history, I did get the sense that this fight eventually happening is inevitable, and I think she will use this fight against Grasso as a tune-up to pave the way for the Nunes fight.
